Mark Higson was confirmed as a WILD player on the very morning of the Dragons game.

Mark has spent weeks taking part in the Wild training sessions and was eventually snapped up in time to face the Dragons as Mick Caunce has again added depth to the squad. Higson is another player who brings a strong background at Rec level and will be looking to learn the intensity of league games as soon as possible.

Fresh from signing on, Mark took time to speak on his new surroundings;

I’m looking forward to the 2013-2014 season with Widnes Wild. The traning is great with Mark Gillingham running good drills and organising the team on the ice, and a good back ground structure to the club.

This will be my first year playing league hockey, after playing for all the local teams Blackpool Seagulls, Blackburn Buccaneers and Deeside Demons. I felt it was time to progress to that next step. The support has been fantastic and I would like to say thanks to all the people that gve there support.

My new team mates have made me feel welcome. My challenge will now be pushing myself to make the ssquad every week. There are top quality players on this team and it has the depth to go all the way.

Marks shirts are now available in our OWN & LOAN section under FANZONE, feel free to leave any welcome messages on our Facebook / Twitter pages!
